Vladimir II "Monomachus" Grand Prince of Kiev was born in 1053.1,2,3 He was the son of Wsevolod I Grand Prince of Kiev and Maria Monomacha.1,2,3 About 1070 Vladimir married Gytha of Wessex Princess of England, daughter of Harold II Godwinsson King of England and Ealdgyth "Swanneshals".2,3 Vladimir II "Monomachus" Grand Prince of Kiev was crowned Prince of Smolensk in 1077.2 He was crowned Grand Prince of Kiev in 1078.2 He was crowned Prince of Tschernigow in 1078.2 He died on Tuesday, 19 May 1125 at age 72 years.1,2,3 He was buried in Kiev, Ukraine.2
