     Margaret Countess of Hainault and Flanders was born on 2 June 1202 in Constantinople, Empire of the East.2 She was the daughter of Baldwin VI Count of Hainaut and Latin Emperor of Constantinople and Marie of Champagne.2,1 She was the heiress of Hainault and Flanders.2 In July 1212 Margaret, at age 10, married Bouchard d'Avêsnes Seigneur d'Avêsnes and d'Etroen, son of Jacques d'Avêsnes Seigneur d'Avêsnes, Leuze, Conde and Guise and Adele de Guise.2,1 Margaret Countess of Hainault and Flanders and Bouchard d'Avêsnes Seigneur d'Avêsnes and d'Etroen were divorced in 1221.1 Margaret Countess of Hainault and Flanders died on Saturday, 10 February 1280 at age 77 years, 8 months and 8 days.2,1
